My Journey Of Walking Out Traditional Values In A Modern World

Honouring My Role As A Wife, Mother & Homemaker

IMG_8032.jpg

I appreciate now how online deliveries have exploded. I have been getting a lot of DM’s about how I support my family naturally, so here it is…

Let’s just start with this.
I am in LOVE with subscription boxes.

I’ve been getting deliveries each month to my home for YEARS!

They save a HUGE amount of time (no shipping kids store to store or dealing with parking and crowds), they can save you money, are convenient and the ones I have chosen are eco-friendly, high quality and are companies that do good in our world #consciousspendingmyfriends

Here is how I shop:

FRESH FRUIT + VEGETABLES

I purchase these locally at the farmers markets or from local farms via delivered organic boxes.

I love the weekly delivery as we generally use the same fruits and veggies each week, then I add on anything extra I want to our standing order. It takes two minutes to update my box and have my produce ordered.

– Shambala Farm here on the Coast
– Community Organics / Doorstep Organics for my Sydney friends

HOLISTIC HEALTH CARE

Many of you know I’m a huge fan of plant-extracts (essential oils). It’s bloody nature in a bottle – you can’t get much more powerful than that!

To give you an idea, one tiny drop of peppermint is equivalent of 25 cups of peppermint herbal tea #dontsayitaintpotent

I choose preventative holistic health care first and foremost for my family.

Pharmaceuticals do not enter our home (unless its absolutely necessary for one of us to survive).

As they say ‘For every pill, there is a plant in nature that has the same effect’ and I know this to be true. I am THAT person that researches allll the scientific studies

Each month I have doTERRA essential oils delivered to my doorstep for this very reason

Do your own research.. let’s just say I have the on guard, tea tree, oregano, litsea, eucalyptus and lemon diffusing EVERY day right now

Ps: and don’t use store bought cheap brands, they will give you reactions and you won’t get the full benefits (most have been diluted with synthetics – ask for a third party GC/MS report so you know EXACTLY what is inside your bottle. If they can’t provide it, bin it and go with a brand who can).

NAPPIES

In supporting Australian small biz and finding a nappy that works, is eco-friendly and not full of chemicals… this is my choice.

Eco originals are free from odour blockers, dioxins, phthalates, lotions, fragrances + more. They use compostable packaging (world first!) which takes only 90 days to biodegrade and are 80% plant based ingredients

Also Little Innocents Baby Wipes – the BEST non-toxic wipes and cost effective. I have them delivered in my monthly box from The Wellness Edit.

TOILET PAPER

Toilet Paper subscription box? Yep!

Lugging a huge pack of toilet roll from the supermarket to home is just down right awkward to carry  and as you may have noticed, I don’t do supermarkets #toomanypeople #noshareholderprofits #supportsmallbiz

I choose to get my delivery from What The Crap

❌ IMPORTANT: READ ON… ❌

How do I enjoy incredibly pure high quality organic wellness products, skin care, wine and superfoods etc?

These days brands love to pay YOU to share their products. So many online brands/ shops have an affiliate program.

I love this idea as ‘word of mouth’ is the most valued form of marketing. When I find something I love, I share it with everyone 🙂

This is how I consciously choose to shop for my family, in order of priority:

  1. I first and foremost buy from small businesses or global conscious companies who do good. Period. This is so important to me to bless the businesses who maintain the right ethics, morals and values all along the supply chain. This is how we can create global change #votewithyourdollar

  2. I choose to spend my money with businesses who have loyalty programs and reward me with free products for being a loyal customer #savesmoney

  3. When I find good quality products I love I join their affiliate / commission programs and spread the word to my friends … it’s a win/ win

  4. I don’t actually pay for my monthly deliveries! Whaaatt?!

Yep. The commissions I earn far cover the cost of my families wellness and holistic health products each month…and more.

Shop with intention my friends ♡

Conscious spending has benefited my family in so many ways

We can all do good, support good, enjoy high quality products that benefit our health and wellness AND get paid to do so! #peoplepoweredmovement #consciousliving #supportyourfamily

the girl behind the blog

Accidental homemaker, sourdough lover and amateur 'made from scratch' cook, pursuing a path of purity in a tainted world. Also knows as the 'million ideas' woman, I'm obsessed with online marketing and pinning images of modern homesteading.

Most importantly, I am a wife and mother navigating the lost skills of homemaking. I spent the last twenty years as an A-type over achiever striving to attain all that I wanted (and I got it too!) only to discover that destiny had a different - and much more beautiful plan. One I could have never imagined!

It is my hope that us, as mothers, learn to love and encourage our husbands. To raise our children well and prepare them for the future to come. To have an open door and a warm cuppa, without notice, for any person in our community who needs us.

Most of all I want us to recognise this...

Within our highest calling as a mother comes a responsibility of the legacy we are leaving. What we sow into our children now, will impact the future they live in and generations to come.
